The goal of this event is to bring experts in English Language Teaching together from across the globe.
Denise is currently the Regional English Language Officer (RELO) for the Andes and Southern Cone region. Based at the U.S. Embassy in Lima, she works the U.S. Embassies throughout the region to promote English language programming for English language educators and learners. She has previously served in Europe, Near East Asia, and Washington D.C. Before joining the U.S. Department of State, she managed programs at institutions in the USA and Spain. Denise’s educational background includes a B.A. degree in Spanish, and M.Ed. in TESOL and doctorate level studies in English Philology.
Studied translation and interpreting at Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón. For more than 15 years she worked as an English teacher and coordinated the English for Business, English for Computers and English for Hotel Management courses at Instituto San Ignacio de Loyola. She has completed a university certificate program on Information Sciences and Management with Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru; she has also completed a TESOL Core Certificate Program with TESOL and a certificate program on Neurosciences and Education with CEREBRUM and Universidad Católica San Pablo. She has been the Regional English Language Office Specialist in the US Embassy in Lima since 2007.
English Language Programs Specialist at the US Department of State and English Programs Coordinator at the US Embassy in Bolivia. Gonzalo is a PhD candidate in Educational Science and Research, has a Master's Degree in TESOL from ASU, a Master’s Degree in Education and a Higher Education Teaching Diploma from CEPI, USFX, an English and Quechua degree from USFX, a Teacher Training Certificate from the Education Bureau of the Department of State of the U.S., and several other specialty courses including ESP, Critical Thinking, Assessment in ELT, Advanced Writing, Gamification, and others.He has participated in, designed, organized, supervised, carried out, and evaluated all sort of pre-service and in-service programs for English Teachers, assessed English programs, lectured in local, national, and international events, and has made of the support of English Teachers' work, professional growth and development his life task.
